York University registration status

When classes begin, the government asks York's Student Financial Services to confirm your registration status. We check your registration status, program, and course load, and electronically send the information to the government. This takes an average of 10 business days from the start of classes.

Students whose registration was confirmed electronically should be able to view the data sent to the government by logging into the government OSAP website. If you have concerns about your OSAP entitlement before that time, you can contact Registrarial Services.

To be confirmed as registered, you must have paid your registration deposit.

If, after these 10 days, your course load remains below the full-time level, then we inform the government that you are not eligible for full-time OSAP aid.

If York sends a confirmation to the government reflecting your full-time status, the government will release your funds according to their payment schedule, typically within 10 business days.

If you are not eligible for full-time OSAP aid, then consider applying for part-time loans and grants.
